Excellent opportunities exist within the East New Britain Development Corporation Group of Companies, a business arm of East New Britain Provincial Government.  The company has subsidiary business involved in Property Investments, Shipping, Barging, Stevedoring, Transport, Logistics, Agribusinesses in Copra & Cocoa, Building Constructions & Maintenance.  Two vacancies exists and are both based in Kokopo, Details for the two (2) positions are outlined below and suitably qualified applicants are invited to apply.

MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT

The successful candidate will report to the Group Financial Controller and the main purpose of this position is to assist the Group Financial Controller to provide Management Accounting functions for the ENBDC Group of Companies. 
Key Roles & Responsibilities include:
  • Preparing periodic financial reports , including profit and loss accounts, budgets, forecasts, cash flows, variance analysis and commentaries;

  • Monitoring costs to ensure they are kept within budget;

  • Preparing economic evaluations of capital projects and advising on the financial implications of business decisions;

  • Interpreting and communicating financial data to non-financial managers;

  • Monitoring and evaluating financial information systems and suggest improvements where needed.

  • Hands-on experience in accounting software, preferably Pronto or other ERP soft wares that is modular function.

  • Ensuring short & mid-term strategies are in line with organisational goals

Qualifications/Experience & Skills Required:
  • Minimum educational qualification: CMA or CPA, preferably with MBA or units earned;
  • Five (5) years’ experience in similar role;
  • Good maths and computer skills, Advanced Spreadsheet knowledge and can understand and write simple VBA code for automation;
  • Supervisory, Planning, Schedule and analytical and logical problem solving skills;
  • Well-developed change management skills with ability to coach and mentor;
  • Well-developed written and oral communication and facilitation skills;
  • Attention to detail;
Honesty, discretion and self-motivation.

MARKETING & SALES COORDINATOR

ENBDC has recently acquired significant prime urban land in Kokopo and is now undertaking subdivision, allocations and sales.  ENBDC is seeking to hire a professional in the field of Sales & Marketing, with particular strength in Land sales & development.

The successful candidate will report to the Group Chief Operating Officer & Deputy CEO and the main purpose of this position is to accomplish business development activities by researching and developing marketing opportunities and plans, implementing sales plans; managing staff. This position requires strong leadership skills and background, know how to handle problems quickly and efficiently and have great communication skills.

Job Duties:

  • Achieves marketing and sales operational objectives by contributing marketing and sales information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality and customer-service standards; resolving problems, completing audits, identifying trends; determining system improvements; implementing change.
  • Meets  marketing and sales financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures, analysing variances; initiating corrective actions;
  • Determines annual and gross-profit plans by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas for the company; projecting expected sales volume and profit for existing and new products; analysing trends and results; establishing pricing strategies; recommending selling prices; monitoring costs; competition, supply, and demand.
  • Accomplishes marketing and sales objectives by planning, developing, implanting, and evaluating advertising, merchandising, and trade promotion programs; developing field sales action plans.
  • Identifies marketing opportunities by identifying consumer requirements; defining market, competitor’s share, and competitor’s strengths and weaknesses; forecasting projected businesses; establishing targeted market share.
  • Improves product marketability and profitability by researching, identifying and capitalizing on market opportunities; improving product packaging; coordinating new product development.
  • Sustain rapport with key accounts by marking periodic visits; exploring specific needs; anticipating new opportunities.
  • Provides information by collecting, analysing, and summarizing data and trends.
  • Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
  • Accomplishes marketing and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

Qualifications/Experience & Skills Required:

  • Minimum educational qualification:  Degree in Business Management or Economics;
  • Minimum Five (5) years’ experience in sales & marketing role;
  • Well-developed Sales & Marketing skills;
  • Good knowledge in accounting;
